Jesus will always be there to save me from myself!
In the Bible, there are many scriptures to hold on to, helping you to focus on Jesus instead of yourself. When you gave your heart to the Lord, all the promises He made in the Bible are for you.
In Galatians 5:24-25, “Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the sinful nature with its passions and desires. Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit.”
When you repented of your sins, asked God to forgive you, and turned from your wicked ways, it was all taken care of for you. You gave up your flesh, your spirit inside of you awakened, and you are a new creature in Christ.
In Galatians 2:20, “I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.”
If you are feeling that your flesh is stronger than your ability to resist, than it is Satan telling you the lies from hell, that you have to give in to the flesh. Scripture is your defense weapon to fight off Satan.
In Matthew 16:23, Jesus was rebuking Peter for what he had said. These same words you need to use to get Satan away from you. “Get behind me, Satan! You are a stumbling block to me: you do not have in mind the things of God, but the things of men.” Satan cannot read your mind, but he does know your weakness. If your flesh is the battle ground, that is where he will tempt you. Temptation is not a sin.
In Romans 16:20, it tells us “The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet. The grace of our Lord Jesus be with you.”
You need to now exercise your faith and belief in the promises of God. In Deuteronomy 31:6, “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them (yourself), for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.”
In Romans 8:26-27, “In the same way, the Spirit help us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express. And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit because the Spirit intercedes for the saints in accordance with God’s will.”
In 1 Corinthians 6:19, “Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body.”
In Galatians 5:16-18, “So I say, live by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the sinful nature. For the sinful nature desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the sinful nature. They are in conflict with each other, so that you do not do what you want. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under law.”
If you feel you need to be saved from yourself, than you need to get alone with God, and read the Scriptures I have given you. Do not let Satan tempt you or keep you from spending time with God. God has made a way for you. Believe in Him, turn to Him, and He will get you through this. Keep your eyes on the Lord and pray that the Holy Spirit reveal in you what is holding you bondage.
Prayer for Healing
Dear Lord, I am in pain. I need you more than ever. You know my heart and you know my need. Move by the power of your Holy Spirit, in me and through me, so I can turn my need over to you and believe in your promise to heal me. Open my eyes of understanding if there is something you want me to know or teach me. My pain is more than I can bear, so help me to endure to the end and I come with faith believing that the healing I desire is done, in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
